Luke was abandoned as a stray from a country road in eastern Ohio. He has been in our rescue since mid-March. He is fully vetted and had eye surgery to correct a 'cherry eye', and is now 100% healthy and the eye condition has been fully repaired. Luke is probably between 1 and 2 years old. Luke is a very sweet boy who hardly barks. He loves his daily walks and follows his foster family from room to room. He is in a house with multiple dogs and gets along great with everyone. Luke does not have a mean or aggressive bone in his body. Understandably from what he has been through, Luke is apprehensive of things that he is unsure about. He'd rather retreat to a safe place (such as his fosters' bedroom) if something makes him feel uneasy or unsure. Luke is young and enjoys it when he has an opportunity to play in the yard with a dog of similar age and energy level. Luke hasn't had an accident in the house since his early days in the rescue. He does not need to be crated when his foster family is away. He does not chew things and is not destructive. Luke does well with car rides. Luke is very much a 'people dog' as he wants to be with his people all of the time, although some of his fearful tendencies show which were instilled upon him at a tender age as a stray. As he develops more courage and confidence, Luke will be an exceptional dog for a person or family who will be very fortunate to have him. Luke will probably do best with a family that has at least 1 other dog. Our preference (but not a requirement) is to find an adopter in the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan area or southwest Ohio as we typically do a home visit prior to adoption.
