Three Sisters Pet Rescue / Ohio Hound Rescue takes in dogs and cats from high-risk situations and places them in foster homes. From there, we adopt them to loving forever families across the tri-state region and beyond.

We are a volunteer-driven, foster-based rescue. Animals receive medical care, rehabilitation, and the stability of a home environment while they wait for adoption. Every pet is spayed or neutered prior to adoption to support responsible ownership and reduce pet homelessness.
Our mission is simple: pull more animals from crisis, grow the foster network, and connect each one with a family ready for forever.
Foster-based since day one

Three Sisters Pet Rescue began with family, compassion, and animals who needed help. We started on the west side of Cincinnati in 2003. As we grew, we expanded to the east side of Cincinnati and communities beyond.
That foster-first model still defines us today. We operate as Ohio Hound Rescue while serving dogs, cats, and the hound breeds we know best. To date, we have successfully placed more than 5,500 animals in loving homes.
Ohio Hound Rescue began with family. Today our founders, board, fosters, and volunteers keep that same foster-first spirit moving animals from crisis to forever homes.

We are not a single shelter building. We are a network of fosters, volunteers, and community partners moving animals from high-risk situations into foster homes and, ultimately, forever families.
We take in dogs and cats from high-risk and overcrowded shelter situations across the Cincinnati area and greater Ohio.
Animals live in home environments while they heal, learn, and prepare for adoption. Growing our foster roster means we can say yes more often.
Pets receive vaccinations and needed medical treatment. Every animal is spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
We list available pets on Petfinder, coordinate through our Facebook community, and work with adopters locally and in surrounding states when transport is possible.

Growth
As our foster and volunteer network grew, we expanded to Cincinnati's east side and surrounding communities across Ohio, always keeping foster-based care at the center.
Today
We have successfully placed more than 5,500 dogs and cats in loving homes while remaining rooted in foster care, Petfinder listings, and the volunteers who make every placement possible.
Every animal we rescue has a story. Foster a pet, adopt a companion, or share our mission with someone who can. Together we pull more animals from high-risk situations and into loving homes.
