Adopter agrees that the pet is to be kept as an indoor companion. At no time will the pet be tied outside or allowed to roam unsupervised.

The pet shall not be sold into research or fighting. Rescue shall be notified if the pet is transferred to a new owner.

Adopter agrees to neuter/spay the pet before it reaches six months of age if not already altered. If the pet is a cat, it will not be declawed.

If Adopter fails to comply with the above conditions, rights and ownership of the pet will automatically revert to Ohio Hound Rescue, who may resume possession of the pet. Reasonable attorney fees for recovery may be paid by the Adopter.

Adopted pets require an adjustment period. Accidents may happen during this time. Adopter will provide a safe space (such as a crate) and instruct children not to bother the animal in that space.

All Ohio Hound Rescue pets have been examined by a veterinarian. Health and temperament cannot be guaranteed. Ohio Hound Rescue assumes no responsibility for medical expenses, mortality, or temperament after the pet leaves our care. There are no refunds for adopted pets.
